Things are rolling along with the start of the campus transition to VoIP. At the Med School, we are getting ready to switch over the first of the “early adopters” to the VoIP network. This group will be instrumental in testing the system and working with the consultants to fine tune the VoIP system before it starts to roll out to larger groups starting in July.
In July, we will be transitioning a few smaller departments. Those on the list right now are:
- Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation
- Department of Human Oncology
- Laboratory Animal Resources
Campus has confirmed that WebEx will be a part of the VoIP system. While it won’t be in place for those groups that transition over the summer, the plan is to have it ready by late summer or early fall of this year. Expect to see more information about this over the next several months as the service is installed, configured, and tested.
